so i have been in Zambia for exactly a week now and it has felt like i have been here forever! God has been doing soooo much and our days have been packed. I am feeling too many emotions, happiness in the fact that I AM IN ZAMBIA but tired emotionally and physically. The first few days we were in Lusaka. We were able to go to the Quarry School which is a school for the poorest of the poor. we were able to give them clothes, play games with them and love them. But it always seems they give us sooo much more. they prepared some songs for us and treat us as if we are celebrities, which i can't fathom. Who am I, but yet how they look up to Americans astounds me. We also went to an orphanage where we were able to share bible stories with them, play with them and give them clothes and school supplies. We were able to spend time with them and get to know them. One kid, Eddie showed me his art book. It was a dirty torn art book but he just lit up as he was showing me his drawings, which were amazing.
We traveled to NDola on Sunday which we connected with a medical missions teams. We went into one of the villages where people would come see the Dr's and get medicine. our team was able to share the gospel with many of them and many placed their trust in the Lord. One cool story I experienced was I got to talk with a pastor that lived in the village. I shared the gospel with him not knowing he was a pastor and then asked at the end if he had any questions. He then starts asking me allll these theological questions. It astounded me that a Pastor was asking me questions about the bible, but his congregation asks him these questions and he doesn't know how to answer them. he doesn't have anyone to train him or to ask these questions to.
We also were able to go from house to house and spend time with the people their and see their day to day lives. One amazing thing that happens is all these kids come out of nowhere. The kids seemed to multiply and were stuck to us. we would play with them, sometimes the kids would just stand around us and stare at us and all we could do was stare back at them since we'd run out of games to play. I just can't get over how much they look up to us. i was sitting on the dusty ground playing with kids and I stood up and these kids starting dusting off me pants. Here they are covered from head to toe in dust, yet they dusted off my pants.
we are now in Kitwe which is where Copperbelt University is. We will be here for the next 10 days doing campus ministry. we will be able to share the Gospel with college students and encourage the believers there. Please pray we would be able to connect with students and that God would be glorified as we share His Word.
